Landscape Completion

I have just Managed to finish the entrance Landscape project and it is looking really awesome. Below are some pics of how that area looked like and steps involved in the changeover.

Passionfruit Black Beauty

Great over fence, pergola, or providing shade all year, in summer a vibrant flower display and in autumn the tasty fruit.

Description: Vigorous evergreen vine with deep green, shiny leaves and attractive mauve and white flowers. Roundish dark purple fruit with juicy, aromatic flowers.

Use: Fresh with a spoon, fruit salad, on ice cream or over the traditional pavlova.

Food Value: Good Amount of Vitamin A, proteins and carbohydrates.

Planting: for quick establishment plant in spring with plenty of organic matter and plant in sunny spot with excellent drainage.

Care: Passion fruit are heavy feeders during the growing season and require high nitrogen based NPK fertiliser, such as citrus feed. Apply fertiliser regularly during the growing season. Train your vine up a fence or wall removing all laterals until it obtains the height you require then pinch out the top and allow to branch out. Remember fruit is produced in the current seasons growth – so prune in spring to encourage new fruiting growth,

Harvest: when fruit changes from green to dark purple.

Pollination: Self fertile, insect pollinated.

Sunflower growing pretty fast under the plum tree...this was not planted - it just grew out of the blue - so left it.

Bottle Gourd, Tomatos and Mints

In one corner of the section, I have planted some Bottle Gourd - Lauki - this is a creeping plant - so I will need to prepare some stakes for it to clim. I have got some bamboo to do this. Along the corners I have Tomatoes and Mints. Below are some picturers of them ar present.

Fruit Trees - Fruits and Flowers

Dwarf fruit trees – peach and nectarine – both had lovely pick flowers over spring and small fruits in them now. This is just over few months - I am able to see fruits within an year which is so exciting for me. The dwarf trees are in large pots.

Apple tree eventually has started having some leaves – I was worried that this tree would have died as I had replanted it a few times and hoping not to damage the roots. I am glad it survived, but not sure if it will fruit this season…

Merry gold flowers in the front yard boarder - to attract some bees around the place for pollination.

Pears Trees are flowering now… hope to get some fruits in them by early next year.

Lemon Meyer – had heaps of flowers and growing pretty well.

The Bitter melon – has started creeping – hope we get warm summer to allow it to grow nicely.

I have planted Tomatoes and chillies in between my fruit trees.. They are growing pretty well.
